Snowpiercer
stories
During this project, our purpose was to analyze how a story transforms and expands throughout different platforms. We took Snowpiercer as our case study because this universe started in a comic book that had such an impact that it was transformed into a movie and lastly a tv show.
We created an animated short film to expand the universe of Snowpiercer and to serve as an example of how transmedia storytelling works.

Charlotte is a passenger on the train Snowpiercer. This train carries the remnants of humanity after the world becomes a frozen wasteland.

After the world freezes over, the survivors are transported in a train that never stops, called the Snowpiercer. One of these survivors is Charlotte North, who works as an engineer inside the train.
While Charlotte is sitting in a wagon, she hears a conversation between two men that work on the train. She realized the injustices that occur inside the train and she becomes thirsty for justice to protect those who have been discriminated against and mistreated.

To expand this universe to another platform never explored before, we decided to use Instagram. We created an account with the purpose of building a community that shares the same interest; their love for Snowpiercer and the characters in it.
The Instagram account did so well that we received the engagement of not only the fans but the official account of the Tv show Snowpiercer.

To provide an immersive experience of the story, we created a website with more information about the project. On the website, we explain the main objectives, the investigation process, the creative process, character development, and the background of this universe, for those who didn’t know about Snowpiercer.
